Public health nurses assist parents as they create a healthy, nurturing environment for their young children. Visits are voluntary, free and tailored to individual families' interests and needs. Nurses may meet with parents of any age during pregnancy and/or after the baby is born.
A public health nurse can help you learn more about:
Pregnancy health.
Labor and delivery.
Breastfeeding.
Newborn care.
Your baby's health, including weighing and measuring your baby.
How babies grow, develop and learn.
Other helpful services in the community.
