Equipment Rentals
All-terrain wheelchair
Only available at Lake Elmo Park Reserve and St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park.
This self-propelled wheelchair, with lever-driven wheels and mountain bike tires, allows users to navigate the park with ease at no extra cost. The chair can also be pushed by a trail companion. It is free to use, and only available upon request. Call the park office to confirm availability at 651-430-8370.
Fishing pole loaners are donated by park users and through the MN DNR FIN Program for free at park offices including Lake Elmo Park Reserve, Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park, St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park, and Big Marine Park Reserve. Call ahead for park office hours.
Fishing piers are available at Big Marine Park Reserve, Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park, Lake Elmo Park Reserve, Point Douglas Park, and Square Lake Park.
Warmer weather getting you excited for paddle season? Kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals are available through the iPaddlePort Stations. Supplied by System Services LLC, iPaddlePorts provide an accessible avenue for Washington County’s park users to spend time out on the lake. Users can rent a single or double (tandem) kayak along with stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) directly from their smart phone.

- Reservations open daily from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Each reservation in 2-hour increments.
- Arrive early, as parking is not guaranteed.

Nordic Rocks Ski Rental
Available at Lake Elmo Park Reserve and Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park.
These introductory level cross country skis come in youth and adult size, and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Skis are worn over a traditional winter boot. Renters must use their own snow boots.
- The rock skis are waxless, wood-core skis with fish scales and strap-on bindings.
- Adjustable poles are provided with each ski set.
- Ski rentals will not be available when the trails are in poor condition and there is not enough snow.
- The latest rental time is 2:45 p.m. for a guaranteed 3-hour rental.
Park staff also utilize equipment for learn-to-ski programs as another way to introduce beginners.

Nordic Rocks Skis provided by grant funding through NSSTC.
Only available at Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park. This adaptive sit ski gives users the ability to ski independently, or with the help of another. With a seat width of 12.5 inches, users can sit while propelling themselves with adjustable ski poles, or a friend can use a push bar to guide them.
- $5 to rent for 3 hours.

Orienteering is a great way to explore Lake Elmo Park Reserve. All you will need is a map and a compass. Three different levels of orienteering courses traverse the park and originate at the Eagle Point trailhead parking lot. Maps are available for purchase at the Lake Elmo Park Reserve office for $4.

Picnic Kits are available for rent on the day of your reservation on a first-come, first-serve basis. They are available for pick-up at our park offices and include a variety of items to enhance your recreation experience in the parks.
Quantities of Picnic Kits vary by location and are subject to availability.

Rental Locations
Cross Country Skiing is a great way to stay active in the winter months. Washington County grooms ski trails when conditions allow at Big Marine Park Reserve, Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park, Lake Elmo Park Reserve, Pine Point Regional Park, and St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park. Skiers must purchase a Washington County ski pass online, at a pay station, or at a park office. A daily pass cost $6 and an annual pass cost $30. Youth, ages 18 and under, are free.
MSR Branded Snowshoes are available for rentals at Lake Elmo Park Reserve, Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park, and St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park.
Rentals are available on a first come/first serve basis during regular office hours.
*Snowshoers must remain on designated multi-use trails. Ski Passes are not required for snowshoers.
