Battle Creek - St Croix River Regional Trail Plan
Washington County is developing a long-range planning document that will guide the future development of a paved multiuse trail called the Battle Creek - St Croix River Regional Trail.
About the Trail
The Battle Creek - St Croix River Regional Trail will be an east-west paved route that will run through east Maplewood, Woodbury, and Afton. Once fully developed, it will connect trail users to regional destinations; including, Central Greenway and St Croix Valley Regional Trails, Battle Creek Regional Park, and the St Croix River.
Process
Long-range trail plans are the result of working together with the community and agency stakeholders to create a detailed vision for the future trail.
This plan will provide direction on where the future trail will go, what land is needed, what features it may have, how it will enhance the corridors' resources, and set maintenance expectations.
A successful planning process takes the community's ideas and turns them into a practical plan that prepares the project for future stages like funding, design, and construction.
