Recreational Permits, Department of Natural Resources Registration, Game & Fish Licenses
Purchase recreational licenses and passes in person at any Washington County Service Center. Permits and licenses may also be purchased online or over the phone through the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

Game and Fish Licenses
Game and Fish Licenses and State stamps (not federal) are available at our License Centers. Also available are duplicate licenses, disability licenses and foreign exchange student licenses.
Available Licenses:
- Hunting and fishing
- State stamp - hunting and fishing
- Disability licenses - hunting and fishing
- Ice/fish house
Residents: Must show their Minnesota Driver's License, Minnesota Public Safety Identification or Minnesota Department of Natural Resources number from a prior license.
Nonresidents: Must provide their nonresident driver's license number, Social Security number or Minnesota Department of Natural Resources number from a prior license.
To purchase a non-commercial game or fish license, a customer, regardless of age, must either have a Social Security number (SSN) on file with the Department of Natural Resources or must provide it as part of the license application. United States residents who do not have a SSN must complete and sign a form stating that they have not been issued a SSN. These forms are available from ELS Special Agents, or the Department of Natural Resources web site or Information Center.

Customers who refuse to provide their SSN or sign a form will be denied a license.
Snowmobile Renewal
Our license centers can print your renewal stickers on the same day. To renew:
- Bring the current renewal card, OR
- The registered owner can present their valid ID
Snowmobile Registration
Dealer Purchase: To register a snowmobile purchased from a dealer, you must provide:
- Make, model, and year
- Serial number
- Engine size
- Sales receipt showing proof of tax paid
Private Party Purchase: Sales between private parties do not require payment of sales tax.
You must be at least 18 years old to have a snowmobile registered in your name.
Renewal
Registration Renewal: If your watercraft is registered in Minnesota, renew the registration at a License Center. Please bring the current renewal notice / card or a valid ID of the registered owner (if present).

Registration stickers Available for boats (any type), paddleboards, canoes, jetskis, etc. Watercraft under 10ft or less are exempt from registration.
Dealer Purchase: To register a watercraft purchased from a dealer, you must visit one of our License Centers in-person and provide the following information:
- Watercraft length
- Manufacturer, model and year
- Type of hull material (wood, metal or plastic),
- Type of propulsion,
- Serial or hull identification number (HIN) and;
- Sales receipt showing sales tax has been paid
Private Party Purchase: Watercraft sales between private parties do not require payment of sales tax.

Annual Vehicle Permit
Washington County annual park permits allow permit holder to enter any Washington County park. An annual permit is available per household. To purchase an additional annual permit at a discounted price, both vehicles must be registered to the same household. Annual permits are available for purchase at one of the License Centers or at a Washington County park.

DNR Ski Pass
DNR Cross-country Ski Passes available at license centers, but are not honored at Washington County parks. Purchase Washington County Cross-country Ski Passes and other county park passes online, at a pay station, or at a park office.
