Located adjacent to the Hardwood Creek Regional Trail, the US 61 & CR 50 intersection is a critical crossing location and an area of rapid development in the City of Forest Lake. Under existing conditions, non-motorized users rely on a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) to cross the highspeed US 61 corridor. With development pressure, both vehicular and non-motorized traffic will increase.
This project will study the intersection and develop improvements for the intersection to increase safety and efficiency for all users. This project will study all available intersection options.
