Recommended Alternative Determined 

The project team (Washington County, City of Grant, City of Lake Elmo, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation) are happy to announce that based on a combination of input from the community, feedback from our project partners, and our technical analysis, a recommended alternative has been selected to improve safety, reduce congestion, and improve bikeability/walkability in this area. 

The recommended alternative includes a grade separated interchange with buttonhook style ramps.

This design eliminates the existing at-grade stop light at this intersection and will make a significant safety improvement here. This will also be achieved by minimizing overall project cost, minimizing the amount of necessary private property acquisition, and minimizing the overall project footprint.
